Sartorial Gallant
Some elegance is inherited, and some is cut fresh. Sartorial Gallant begins with the oldest suit in perfumery, the classical fougère, herbs pressed sharp as a crease, geranium and moss and vetiver holding the line, and then walks it into a modern city where violet and iris quietly redraw the silhouette. The tailoring remains impeccable. The cut is new.
Sartorial Gallant is neither a purely classical fougère nor simply a modern iris violet perfume. It lives between the two: old codes interpreted through new proportions, aristocratic restraint set against metropolitan glass. Created for the Sartorial Series as a one time limited edition, it will not join the continuous collection. Once this cut is gone, it is gone.
The inherited suit
It opens in the old vocabulary. Bergamot and petitgrain strike bright and exact, lavender arrives with an almost antique cleanliness, clary sage and coriander seed keep the aromatics precise. This is the fougère of another era, composed, formal, unmistakably polished, and it is worn here deliberately: not as nostalgia, but as a reference point. The suit was the grandfather’s. The pressing is this morning’s.
The new silhouette
Then the city arrives. Violet leaf moves into the centre, cool, slightly green, architectural, and the Parma violet accord opens above it like powder over steel. Orris butter gives the middle its smooth, expensive texture, and Rose de Mai softens the whole line without ever turning it conventionally floral. The familiar fougère leaves the countryside, the barbershop, the old world cabinet, and steps onto a fast street in a slim new shadow.
Geranium, the bridge
One material belongs to both eras, and the composition hangs on it. Geranium sits naturally inside the classical aromatic structure while extending upward into the floral abstraction above; it is the seam where the two halves are joined. Beneath, the memory holds: oakmoss, tonka and vetiver carrying the vintage cloth, Virginia cedar and sandalwood pressing it flat, labdanum warming it, ambrette and a musk accord finishing the lining so the whole suit sits close to the skin.

From the bench
The brief here was proportion. The two eras are dosed against each other so neither wins: the violet accord is measured so the fougère never reads as costume, and the orris is held where powder stays architecture rather than sugar. Geranium is the hinge and is weighed like one. The result changes register with the light, aromatic and exact in the morning, powdered and shadowed by evening, one suit worn two ways. A one time edition: the formula will not be recut.
“The tailoring is impeccable. The silhouette is new.”

The wearer
They dress for themselves and arrive exactly on time. They know which rules are worth keeping and break the rest without announcement. In a room of loud new money they read as something rarer: continuity, worn lightly. The suit is old. The stride is not.
