The name is an abbreviation of Harum oleh Memori, which translates to Fragrance Through Memory. HoM Haute was founded in Jakarta by Reza Irwansyah as an independent perfume house built around curiosity, craftsmanship, and creative freedom. Unlike traditional paths into perfumery, the project did not begin through formal fragrance education or industry training. Instead, it emerged from years of self directed learning, experimentation, collecting, and an enduring fascination with how scent can communicate ideas, emotions, and memories in ways that words often cannot.
The philosophy of HoM Haute is inspired by jazz. In jazz, technique matters, but so does spontaneity. Structure exists, yet it leaves room for interpretation and discovery. A composition may be performed differently each night while still remaining true to its identity. We see fragrance in a similar way. Formulae are important, but they are not the destination. Materials evolve, naturals vary from harvest to harvest, and ideas continue to mature over time. Rather than pursuing absolute uniformity, HoM Haute embraces fragrance as something alive.
This philosophy extends into the way fragrances are produced. Every creation is blended in small batches, allowing room for refinement, experimentation, and continuous learning. Some fragrances remain close to classical structures, drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of perfumery.
