Aquilaria Miel D'Orient
Description
Aquilaria Miel d’Orient is a classical oriental composition shaped through the richness of honey, herbs, spices, musk, and resins, built around the dark gravity of Trat Koh Chang oud and the burnished softness of Kupang sandalwood.
It opens with a spiced aromatic glow. Saffron, cinnamon bark, cardamom, coriander seed, clove bud, black pepper, and cumin create a warm entrance that feels both opulent and ceremonial. Dried thyme, myrtle leaf, artemisia, and lavender absolute introduce an herbal sharpness that keeps the sweetness under control, giving the perfume an old-world dignity rather than a gourmand excess.
At its heart, honey accord and beeswax absolute unfold over a resinous core of labdanum, benzoin Siam, myrrh, olibanum, and opoponax. The effect is golden, balsamic, and textured, like light moving across polished amber and embroidered fabric. As it settles, Trat Koh Chang oud deepens the composition with a dark, smoky, slightly animalic character, while Kupang sandalwood softens the edges with creamy warmth. Oakmoss, cedarwood Atlas, patchouli, castoreum accord, and civet accord complete the structure with shadow, depth, and classical gravitas. The result is regal, honeyed, and resinous, with an unmistakably antique soul.
Story
Aquilaria Miel d’Orient was imagined as an homage to the grandeur of classical Middle Eastern perfumery, not in the simplified modern sense of sweetness and power alone, but in its older, more intricate language of incense, spice, woods, and animalic warmth. It is meant to evoke the atmosphere of a majlis lit by amber light, where honeyed tea, precious woods, worn textiles, and perfumed air mingle into a single memory.
There is something ceremonial in the way it moves. The herbs and spices suggest preparation, the honey and resins suggest abundance, and the oud and sandalwood suggest permanence. Rather than chasing immediate impact, the fragrance unfolds like architecture: first the gilded surface, then the intricate carvings, then the shadowed chambers beneath. It carries the spirit of a world where perfume was not merely adornment, but presence, hospitality, lineage, and aura.
This is a fragrance of golden interiors and darkened wood, of sacred smoke rising through still air, of sweetness disciplined by age and structure. It does not aim to feel modern in the conventional sense. Instead, it leans into something more enduring: the sensual intelligence of old perfumery, where richness was never careless, and beauty always carried weight.
Philosophy
Every HoM Haute fragrance is produced in small batches. Minor variations between batches may occur due to the use of natural materials, maturation, and ongoing refinement of the composition. Rather than pursuing absolute uniformity, we embrace fragrance as a living creation that continues to evolve. Time, storage conditions, and wear will shape each bottle into a slightly different experience. We encourage you to age and observe your fragrance as part of its journey.
Safety
Some HoM Haute creations intentionally explore materials, concentrations, and historical perfumery practices beyond contemporary commercial standards. Certain fragrances may contain ingredients restricted, discontinued, or used at levels exceeding current IFRA recommendations. Individuals with sensitive skin, allergies, or known fragrance sensitivities should exercise caution. We recommend testing on a small area of skin, such as the palm or inner forearm, before regular use.
