My Favorite Things

The one I return to without thinking.

This is the one I return to without thinking — the piece I wear for myself. Among everything I have created, this kind of composition remains my personal favorite.

At its core, the fragrance is built on a personal axis. Vanilla has always been my center — not the easy sweetness, but the deep, almost sacred warmth of Vanilla Planifolia. Around it, I continue an ongoing exploration of oud, here through Pasaman Oud Oil: smoky, sweet, profoundly resinous, moving like slow-burning wood dissolving into balsamic depth. There is weight, but no aggression. It breathes.

The composition, in three movements

From smoke to a sacred warmth
Oakwood smoke · Guaiac
The first curl of smoke off slow-burning wood — the theme stated quietly, before it begins to turn.
Pasaman Oud · Royal Leather
The searching middle. Resinous oud meets a polished, composed leather — haute materiality that lifts the intimate into the refined without losing its soul.
Vanilla · Benzoin · Labdanum · Sandalwood
A molten, enveloping warmth — the home the whole piece keeps returning to. Sweetness, but controlled; slow rather than loud.

Vanilla Planifolia Abs.
My center. Not the easy sweetness, but a deep, almost sacred warmth — the axis everything else turns around.
Pasaman Oud Oil
Smoky, sweet and profoundly resinous — slow-burning wood dissolving into balsamic depth. Weight without aggression.
Royal Leather
Not ornament, but elevation. A statement of haute materiality — polished, composed, deliberate; the structure that lifts the whole.
Benzoin · Labdanum · Balsams
The molten core. Resins that pool together into a warm, ambered density beneath everything.
Oakwood CO₂ · Guaiac Wood
The smoky dimension extended — dry, woody, faintly charred, holding the composition open.
Sandalwood · Patchouli
The grounding. A composed, earthy depth that keeps the warmth from ever tipping into excess.

This is my DNA — a balance between comfort and depth, between familiarity and constant exploration. Something I can wear endlessly, yet never fully exhaust.

“If there is a musical parallel, it is Coltrane. Not the obvious melody, but the repetition that evolves.”

A theme that returns again and again, each time with new nuance — spiritual, searching, yet grounded in discipline. Just something true.

Fashion
The jacket broken perfectly to the body — the Royal Leather parallel. The one piece you keep reaching for and never tire of.
My Favorite Things
Music · John Coltrane, 1961
A theme that returns and evolves, each pass finding new nuance — the exact shape of this fragrance in sound.
A temple in the middle of the city
Place
A pocket of incense and stillness held inside the noise — sacred warmth in the middle of everyday life.

From the bench

A vanilla built for repetition: Pasaman oud roughens the sweetness, Royal Leather squares its shoulders, and the theme returns wearing different light each hour, the Coltrane method applied to evaporation. Nothing in it is loud; everything in it returns.

The wearer

He reaches for it the way he reaches for the same mug, the same seat on the train, the same first record on a Sunday: without deciding. Some loves are decisions. The deepest ones are habits.
